Rescheduled Date - Smashing Day Ahead At Tullyroan Oval |
 |
The annual outing for the Big Van Bangers and the 1600 Rookie Bangers New Year Challenge top the bill as Tullyroan Oval kicks off 2026 in style on Sunday January 25th (2pm). Please note rescheduled date
There will be smashes and crashes galore as the Transits and the like are battered into submission. It makes for a fantastic spectacle as the fight for the aptly named ‘Van-dalism 2026’ title. The day will end with the last van moving Destruction Derby. Amongst the star names in action will be Dublin duo Stevo McGrath and Steven Reynolds alongside Lisburn’s Rodney Herron and the north west’s Tony Gillespie. Loughgall’s Jonny Murdock is another local ace who is set to be in the thick of the entertainment, alongside Tiernan and Daniel O’Donnell.
Also in action will be the 1600 Rookie Bangers with a huge field of FIFTY cars booked in to race in the New Year Challenge. Big grids mean big action as the drivers chase the silverware. Irish Champion Lucas Goligher, his brother Josh, NI Points Champion Stephen Boyd and former World Banger Champion Steven Bolton will be amongst the pacesetters, or will they be the targets for the others? With such a huge field on hand it promises to be a cracker!
Fresh from his recent victory in the Best in Britain event at Hednesford in England, Portadown’s World and European Champion Steven Haugh heads the entry for the Superstox formula. British and Irish Champion Jordan Robinson will run him close, with Jamie McCann and Dean Catherwood other big contenders.
Completing the line up will be the Lightning Rods formula, headed by World Cup holder Mark Corry, and the Junior Productions where Antrim’s National, British and Irish Champion Leyton Hughes will be the one to watch.
