Aaron Grabs Gold in Ipswich World Final!
Aghadowey driver Aaron Stewart took the biggest win of his career last Saturday night at Foxhall Stadium in Ipswich when he was crowned 2017 Lightning Rods Champion of the World!

With a large, high quality field on hand, qualifying was always going to be crucial and Aaron opened up with a 14th place from the rear of the grid, before winning the reverse grid second heat. That landed him on the coveted pole position for the Championship of the World Final, and he made no mistake early on as he carved out a comfortable lead. Nearing the end however a crash amongst the backmarking runners caused Aaron to lose time, with Ben Murray from England closing onto his tail. Aaron still had matters under control until Murray illegally barged his way past to take the flag. The Stewards intervened, handing Murray a two place demotion and rightfully handing Aaron the World Championship crown.

There was more success for the DMC drivers at Ipswich, this time in the Ninja Karts as Portadown's Daniel Stewart took victory in the Stars of the Future race on what is the biggest stage of them all! Daniel made a steady start and then swooped past into a lead he held all the way home to the flag for a deserved win indeed.
There was another Ulster victory when John Christie went around the outside to win the National Hot Rods Nick Thomas Memorial Trophy, whilst Adam Hylands was victorious in both the Wildcard Final and The Betfred Trophy. Other notable results were Adam Best's runner up slot in the 2.0 Hot Rods National Championship and Bobbie Johnston's third place finish in the Stock Rods European.

DMC Race Promotions would like to congratulate all our winners, and all the other drivers who represented the promotion so well at the Spedeweekend.
